1 Laborde, Renaissance, II, 1855, 753-754, as datable in May, 1531 (although the document states it was written in July).  Laborde, II, 1880, 365, undated.  Actes de François Ier, VII, 1896, 678, no. 28250, undated.  Roy, 1921 (1929, 124), as July 1531, because of another payment contained within another part of it to another person giving the period November 1530-May 1531, and because the payment to Jehan Poulletier appears again in a document dated 8 July 1531 (on which see L.36).  Roy, 1923, 29 (1929, 124).  Roy wrongly believed the painting mentioned was a copy of Michelangelo’s Leda, which had not yet arrived in France (see D.74).  Venturi, IX, 5, 1932, 196, as not related to Michelangelo’s Leda.  Grodecki, 1975, 104, n. 2.
