Ride to End Alzheimer’s

The #Ride2EndALZ Spring Challenge is for all riders, the novice beginner and the seasoned road warrior. All bike types are welcome – road, stationary/exercise, recumbent – even tricycles and unicycles! With each pedal stroke, participants will fuel cutting-edge research targeted to change the trajectory of Alzheimer’s Disease. Register here!

9th Annual Accessibility Awareness Day (in person)

Spend the day with Cerebral Palsy of Ulster County at the Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park – Highland side – for a fundraiser to help raise awareness of the need for recreational spaces for individuals with disabilities.
Entrance is free! There will be music, a bake sale, event t-shirts for sale, and an amazing raffle.

Dutchess/Ulster Walk to End Alzheimer’s (in person)

Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. This inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to join the fight against the disease.

Registration starts at 9 a.m. with the opening ceremony at 10 a.m. followed by the walk.

Alzheimer’s Community Forum

Dutchess County Office for the Aging, Dutchess County, NY and the Alzheimer’s Association, Hudson Valley host an event to learn about Alzheimer’s, dementia and memory loss in this brief community-focused listening session. We’ll review the basics of these conditions, services of the Alzheimer’s Association and how we can expand the reach of local programs and services. Bring a friend and share your thoughts about how the Alzheimer’s Association can help more people in your community.

2021 Caregiver Symposium; A Glimpse into the Life of a Younger Caregiver

Join the Alzheimer’s Association Hudson Valley Chapter for an evening focused on the Younger Caregiver experience. Our 2021 symposium will highlight real life stories, situations and events that raise awareness on a caregiver’s journey and highlight the importance behind community support and outreach. Featured Speakers/Panelists Dr. Jessica Zwerling will speak about Healthy Aging and caregiver stress. Amy LeFleur wll speak on The Millennial Caregiver Experience Teresa Santos will speak on Fears Millennials Have About Alzheimer’s The event will also feature a presentation on Healthy Living for your Brain and Body offering tips on how to create a plan for healthy aging.
