Art Gallery Internship with Visitor Center Contemporary Art Gallery

This opportunity is available during Summer 2022. Parts of this CEL opportunity can be conducted virtually. This opportunity is only available for CEL credit.

VISITOR CENTER is a contemporary art gallery whose mission is to feature artists of the Hudson Valley and beyond, working in painting, sculpture, mixed media, sound, video and VR art. Located in Newburgh, NY, it occupies 2,000 square feet on the ground level of the US workshop of Hysteric Glamour, an iconic Japanese streetwear company. The gallery is dedicated to supporting artists in the advancement of their practices and careers through a supportive community and curated exhibitions. VISITOR CENTER is run by Eva Zanardi through her creative advisory firm EZARTCONSULTINGNYC LLC. Eva is a professional art advisor and writer who builds and manages collections for international estates, foundations, and individual collectors.

Position Description:

  • Preparing personalized outgoing mailings to the press
  • Writing and editing texts for blogs posts, press releases, media alerts catalogs and magazine articles
  • Researching and drafting posts aimed at promoting current and upcoming exhibitions
  • Creating mailing lists
  • Pitching ideas for creative promotional content
  • Writing and/or edit content for the gallery’s website
  • Drafting invitations, posters, marketing materials
  • Assist with exhibition coordination and installation design
  • Participate in strategic installation planning for upcoming exhibition and art fairs
  • Learning essential skills for art handling and art installation
  • Organizing paperwork and details for incoming and outgoing shipments

Double Take International Juried Exhibition Opening (in person)

The Art Effect is excited to announce, Double Take International Juried Exhibition, taking place in the heart of the City of Poughkeepsie at the Trolley Barn Gallery with a public opening reception on January 21, 2022 from 5-7pm. Join us for a fun night of arts and culture with the artists and jurors from Double Take. The exhibition was juried by Poughkeepsie youth and guest Juror, Rachel Seligman of the Tang Teaching Museum at Skidmore College, who will be giving a statement at the opening on jurying with the youth.
