City of Poughkeepsie Common Council is receiving comments on the proposed introductory Local Law, entitled “Local Law Amending Section 18 1/2 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Poughkeepsie, New York”; Local Waterfront Redevelopment Program.
Poughkeepsie Common Council Meeting – Good Cause Eviction (virtual)
The Common Council is the law-making body of the City of Poughkeepsie and is comprised of 9 members. 8 ward representatives and 1 member At-Large. Similar to Congress at the federal level, we are the City of Poughkeepsie’s legislative body. The Council is separate from the Mayor’s administration but an equal partner in how our City is run.
Good Cause Eviction is a piece of legislation that would require a judge to approve every eviction and rent raise by a certain set of conditions.

A City of Poughkeepsie Common Council Public Hearing will be held on Monday, April 5, 2021 at 5:30pm, and will be held via videoconferencing, (as permitted by the NYS Open Meetings Law), for the purpose of receiving comments on the proposed designation of the “Eastman Park Oval” as a Local Historic Landmark.
