Of the tree called acana, and of its fruit by the same name.
Translated by Laurel Hanson ’23
The acana is a large tree, and its leaves are almost like those of the pear tree. The fruit is the size and shape of an egg, and it smells very good, like a camuesa or pippin, and is similarly yellow with a thin skin or peel. The flavor is like that of cheese; if one carries many of them in one’s hands, it even smells of cheese. It is a good fruit and is easily digestible.
