Poetry Slideshow

This is our third workshop. We’ll use Final Cut Pro to put together recordings of our voices combined with images. Final Cut Pro is a professional grade video editing tool.

Objective: Participants will create narrated slideshows in Final Cut Pro.

Stage I

  1. Record yourself reading one of the three poems in Audacity.
  2. Export the .aiff file to a directory called “Poem1” in the Save Here directory. Put all your files for today there.
  3. Import the .aiff file into Final Cut Pro (hereafter called FCP).
  4. Find three images to go with your poem. Download them to your Poem1 folder.
  5. Export your FCP video as a quicktime video.
  6. Publish to YouTube or Vimeo and post to to our WordPress site, categorize it as “Poetry Slideshow”.

Stage II  – Please pick 1 OR 2 (not both).

  1. Find your own poem, record yourself reading it, and then find images to go along with it.
  2. Write your own poem, record yourself reading it, and then find images to go along with it. Add music if you like.

Your Daily Dose of Hanna.

Today all I did was review everyone’s podcasts, and I must say I was pleased with what I heard. All your stories were ravishing! Some people talked into the mic too hard, I’m not going to say names (Tori). Hmmmmm, I guess that’s it. Enjoy this picture of what I am going to be for Halloween.

The devilishly handsom, Jigsaw.

Karen and Paige Update Week 3

We looked at the mercedes benz commercial and it spured a conversation on other commercials that we had seen and liked or disliked. We both remember and loved the huggies commercial for jean diapers, we think that it was so cute!

We also listened to some very sad stories on storycorp.org. Karen shared with Paige a video on a boy with cancer and Paige shared with Karen a video on a story about September 11th.

My First Podcast

Today, I learned how to make a podcast as well as what one was. The most challenging part about creating a podcast was thinking of a family event and describing it. Expressing My Story made me realize the good memories and huge opportunities of my trip. Personally, this was a life-changing as well as a one-in-a-lifetime experience.
