This is a multimedia project Sam created throughout the semester we worked together. She combined stop motion videos, photographs, and movies that she took outside of classtime with music she likes. In class we spent time talking about what she wanted to do for her final project. She said she wanted to make something pretty abstract but that was still meaningful to people. We talked about the ways in which she could do this, what little videos she wanted to make, what types of photographs she wanted to take and the music that might go well with it. We also spent time editing the piece in class as well as talking about how she wanted to change it and continue with it.

Final Cut and Poetry readings
Today, we both recorded poems on audacity and matched images over them in final cut pro. I enjoyed it. I don’t really like speaking into the thing, but I liked looking for pictures and I really like reading the poems, not necessarily writing them.

Podcast, day 1!
Today we worked on our podcast. It went pretty well, we had our ups and downs with the system, but we finished what we needed to. We’re going to make final adjustments to the podcasts next week. But here’s what we’ve done so far!

hello, my nam is samantha donahue. i was born and raised in poughkeepsie. though i did live in los angeles for 3rd grade. i’m currently a freshman in high school. i am an exercise fanatic. i am currently on the poughkeepsie crew team and an avid runner. i play the violin and listening to music is my favorite hobby. some of my favorite bands are fleet foxes, sigur ros, radiohead,and the silent years. i enjoy reading and love school.

Here’s a picture of me in Savannah, Georgia. This past spring, I drove my car from Miami, FL to Portland, ME with my friend from Bermuda. We stopped everywhere along the way. Savannah was by far my favorite place. I loved the houses there and I especially love Pralines.

Here’s me trying to tell you about myself.
As you might have gathered, I’ve never done anything like this before. I can’t say making digital presentations or working with iMovie are things I enjoy. But here is a little bit more about me:
I just moved into a house with four other friends this semester and I absolutely love it! I get to cook all my own meals and my housemates are lovely. Thursday afternoons we watch movies together. My favorite movie is Amelie and it has been since I was 11. My second favorite is I Heart Huckabees. I also love comedic television: The Office, Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock, That ’70s Show and How I Met Your Mother. Despite a few years of shunning the radio, I’ve finally given in, and I love Carly Rae Jepson, Cher Lloyd, Taylor Swift, Lana del Rey, Beyonce and Nicki Minaj. I also like A Tribe Called Quest and Jurassic 5, but I don’t hear them too much on the radio. I’ve always loved to read, but rarely find time for my own reading between problems sets for my Chemistry Major and captaining the Vassar Women’s Ultimate Frisbee team. If I’m bored on a Saturday afternoon (which I rarely am because of school and frisbee!), I like to play Apples to Apples or paint my nails.
