City of Poughkeepsie PK4Keeps Comprehensive Plan Meeting

The city has approved a new comprehensive plan and is continuing to work to update the corresponding zoning code amendments.
The city will hold two more public meetings to obtain feedback — on Wednesday, March 6 at the Poughkeepsie Trolley Barn, 489 Main St., Poughkeepsie, and on Wednesday, March 27 at Morse Elementary School, 101 Mansion St., Poughkeepsie. Both meetings will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
The city, which has not updated its zoning on a citywide scale in 40 years, intends to streamline the number of districts and modernize the regulations to address development trends. The city is working with planning consultants CZB and Ingalls Planning & Design on these efforts.
City officials have made some revisions to the initial draft of the zoning code based on public input, which included a meeting at the Family Partnership Center last fall.
