About:

Dutchess County Pride Center is a safe space for LGBTQ+ individuals and their families, including youth to meet and socialize. Our goal is to improve the health, safety, and well-being of the entire LGBTQ+ community in Dutchess County.

​We support, educate, and advocate for all members of the LGBTQ+ community, including LGBTQ+ youth and young adults through outreach, support groups, and social events.

Position Description:

  • Helping to maintain our social media channels
  • Helping to coordinate with other organizations in the area regarding public policy and ways to work together to help the community
  • Helping to create programming for the local LGBTQ+ community.
  • Working directly with our youth during weekly groups and drop in times is also a possibility.
  • Additional Summer responsibilities include helping to plan Poughkeepsie Pride and helping to create activities as well as helping to supervise our Summer Camps.

Skills:
Communications – emails, phone calls, in person outreach, Graphic design, Previous experience working with young people, Social media management

Hours: 4hrs/week or 8hrs/week

Additional Requirements: Background check, having their own transportation is helpful.
