About: Hudson River Housing provides a continuum of services that improves lives and communities through housing with compassion and development with vision. Position Description: The intern will support research, community engagement, and administrative tasks related to housing and community development initiatives. Responsibilities include conducting research on policies and best practices, assisting with outreach and communication efforts, compiling data for reports, and drafting materials such as newsletters and flyers. They will help coordinate events, track project timelines, and maintain organized records. Additionally, the intern will attend and take notes at local government meetings or events, participate in local rallies to support advocacy efforts, collaborate with team members and external partners, and gain hands-on experience in nonprofit operations, policy advocacy, and community impact.

About: Under the umbrella of Hudson River Housing in our Youth Service department we operate a youth and young adult drop in center for youth 25 and under. Our staff work with youth and young adults 18-25 who are homeless or housing insecure, and need referrals to different offices or agencies that could help with their individual situations. We provide a safe haven for those experiencing different levels of homelessness to come and utilize services we have the ability to provide. Such as , assisting with Housing & Job searches, Laundry services, Shower, Hygiene supplies, donated clothing, and connection to other needed services in the county for clients we serve.
Expected Responsibilities/Duties:
- Social Media Management and support; creating and posting content
- Tabling at events within the community to raise awareness about what Pete’s Place is doing within the county and the services provided here and how we can collaborate with others to accomplish our goal of preventing youth homelessness

Position Descriptions:
Position 1, Archive Intern: Habitat Dutchess is in need of an intern to help us scan, organize and archive physical articles, booklets and historical documents about the affiliate. Habitat Dutchess has been in existence since 1986 and recently discovered items from as far back as the 90’s. These items are critical to maintain our historical integrity. An intern is needed to help sort through the documents, scan them and digitize them, organize them once scanned and assist our Development Associate to create a way for the public to see all of these great historical items via our website. This position primarily will take place in person due to the nature of needing to access physical documents and scan them.
Position 2, Homeownership Department Intern: Currently seeking an intern to assist with our Homeownership Department. This department is the face of the organization for the people we serve. Calling customers to arrange appointments, reviewing intake surveys and providing guidance and mailing applications are critical steps to help serve folks who are looking to purchase a home, and to help folks who own homes and are in need of repairs. This position works closely with the Housing & Financial Coach to support the Homeownership program. The Homeownership Department intern will learn about the homebuying process and support our upcoming Spring Semester of Homebuying University. This position can be hybrid, with tasks available to work from home (or campus)

About: Hudson Valley Clubhouse is one of over 370 therapeutic, working communities in 32 countries. A Clubhouse is a community-based location designed to support the recovery of people living with serious mental illness (SMI). Each clubhouse provides a restorative environment for people whose lives have been severely disrupted because of their mental illness.
In each Clubhouse, an intentional community is created, where members and staff work together, side-by-side, to carry out all daily operations of the Clubhouse. Members are also given access to crisis intervention services when needed and are connected with resources to support their basic needs, including support with employment, relationship building, education, housing, and daily meals.
Position description: Each student is asked to join one of our two work units, career and communications or home and garden. Students learn the process of welcoming and engaging members (Clubhouse participants) in running all aspects of the Clubhouse, learning about members’ lives and community interests and needs, and assisting members in addressing those needs. All of this is done in a collegial manner that is more of a partnership and not a “treatment” mode. Students have the opportunity to learn about the wider mental health system and how to assist members with housing, employment, educational and public benefits needs.

About: Founded in 1879, Family Services brings people together to find the support they need, improving their lives and communities, and building a stronger, safer Hudson Valley. Our program areas include Behavioral Health, Victim Services, Family Programs, Youth Services, Community Safety, and Prevention. Last year, nearly 17,000 children, adults, and families benefited from Family Services programs in Dutchess, Ulster, and Orange counties.
Family Services also manages the Family Partnership Center as a location where the community can come together for conversation and the exchange of ideas, participate in athletics and arts programming, and where a variety of nonprofits and related organizations can co-locate and collaborate to offer enhanced services that create real access. Last year over 70,000 people took advantage of services or activities on this 100,000+ square foot campus.
Position description: Family Partnership Center (FPC) Ambassadors are unpaid volunteers who create a welcoming environment for FPC visitors and assist with connecting people to services. The FPC is available to the community as a place to come together for conversation and the exchange of ideas, to participate in athletics and arts programming, and where a variety of nonprofits co-locate and collaborate to offer enhanced services that create real access. It is estimated that the Center serves between 45,000 and 70,000 individuals a year with more than 110,000 service interactions.
We also have an opportunity to assist with our Communications and Marketing department.
