Quakers and Antislavery in the Era of the American Revolution

Drawing on primary sources from throughout the Hudson Valley, as well as from the wider eastern seaboard and Atlantic World, historian Sarah Gronningsater discusses the history of Quakers in the American Revolution and the antislavery movement. She highlights some of the hidden stories behind major events and shares new findings on the history of enslaved people and their Quaker partners in the abolitionist movements of the 18th century.
