Dutchess County’s Earth Day Event

Mother Nature has a sense of humor, sending rain our way as we celebrate Earth Day this Saturday, but Dutchess County’s annual Earth Day celebration will take place, rain or shine on Saturday, April 26th, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Environmental Cooperative at the Vassar Barns, located at 50 Vassar Farm Lane in Poughkeepsie. Hosted by the Dutchess County Division of Solid Waste and the Environmental Cooperative, this free event has plenty of indoor environmental education opportunities, giveaways, and interactive activities for the whole family.

Come inside the Vassar Barns on Saturday and enjoy a live beehive observatory and real bird nests to observe; make your own nature journal and seed balls, play matching games, and much more! It will be a great way to beat the rain and learn about how we can all play a part in making our community more sustainable. We hope to see you there!
