BioBlitz at College Hill Park
Explore Poughkeepsie’s plants and wildlife with local stewards, scientists, and neighbors!
Join us for a group scavenger hunt — known as a BioBlitz — to identify plants, birds, pollinators, and other forms of life. We’ll be scouting out the City of Poughkeepsie’s College Hill Park, which is both the largest park and highest point in the City.
Your observations will contribute to the growing database of biodiversity (the variety of plants and animals) being gathered as part of the Defining Urban Biodiversity study in Kingston, Newburgh, and Poughkeepsie. You’ll also learn how to use the iNaturalist app to help you prepare for future community science events!
This event is in partnership with the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies, Cornell Cooperative Extension Dutchess County’s No Child Left Inside (NCLI) program and the Revive College Hill Park Coalition.
