Arbor Day 2025: Kick-Off of the Arboretum Centennial Celebration
April 25 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
This year is the 100-year anniversary of the founding of the Vassar Arboretum! Launched in 1925 at the instigation of pioneering scientist and Vassar professor Edith Roberts, the Arboretum is a diverse collection of trees and woody plants that contributes to the educational and residential life of the college. We at Vassar love our trees!
On April 25th, Arbor Day, we’ll kick-off a year-long celebration with activities on the Library Lawn and the planting of the Class of 2027 Class Tree. The Office of Student Growth and Engagement, Vassar Nature Rx, the Arboretum Committee, and other campus partners will provide opportunities to honor and care for each other and for the trees and other life forms on our campus. Activities will begin at 12:00 noon, culminating with the Class Tree ceremony at 3:00pm.
