Filling Empty Bowls + Handmade Market — A Community Luncheon and Artisan Market to Support Food Justice

Fareground is hosting our third‑annual Filling Empty Bowls event on Saturday, November 15, with sessions from 11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.–2:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church (1 Chestnut Street, Cold Spring, NY 10516). This is a casual community lunch by local chefs, paired with a handmade market featuring gift-quality artisan goods, plus live acoustic music. The event raises funds and awareness for Fareground’s food justice efforts in our region.

This event brings together artists, neighbors, and food‑lovers for more than a meal—it’s a call to action. Guests choose from handcrafted bowls donated by area potters, enjoy the lunch, and take their bowl home as a tangible symbol of filling an empty bowl for someone else. Through participation you help support community meals, emergency food outreach, and our local tiny‑food‑pantry network. By attending, participants are supporting Fareground’s mission to celebrate food and community for all while prioritizing dignity, equity, and sustainability. Fareground values compassion, inclusivity, and community care, and actively works to challenge systems of oppression, promote local agriculture, and reduce food waste.
