Julián Aguilar

Julián Aguilar ’23 (he/him) is an Academic Computing Consultant (and liaison for the Languages divisions and History and Music departments) in the Computing and Information Services department at Vassar College. Julián also directs the Vassar Innovation and Entrepreneurship (VIE) Program.

In his ACS support, Julián specializes in: instructional design, program management, Airtable (relational spreadsheet-database), graphic design, Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), web design and front-end development (WordPress, Drupal, Dreamweaver, XD, HTML/CSS).

Prior to joining the ACS team, Julián was the Administrative Fellow (and Manager of Employee Experience Initiatives) in the Office of the Vice President for Technology and Human Resources, supporting various programs and initiatives across the department. Julián is a graduate of Vassar College and holds a Bachelor of Arts (A.B.) in Sociology with a correlate in Urban Studies.

Beyond Vassar, Julian is deeply involved in community-based work. He serves on the board of Chicano Organizing and Research in Education, a nonprofit dedicated to providing scholarships to undocumented students and empowering the Chicano/Latino community. He also founded his own nonprofit back in California, supporting high-achieving, low-income rural students of color to attend and afford the college of their dreams. He is also a freelance graphic designer, with a passion for visual identity and website design.
