Zahara Goldkin – Class of 2025; Environmental Studies Major
Zahara joined us in the Spring of 2023. Zahara is working on a project to understand how the distribution of sound energy and seasonal changes in habitat structure influence the active space of chickadee, titmice, and nuthatch vocalizations at the Vassar Farm and Ecological Preserve. She, Lucinda, and Susie are our experts on sound source recordings and signal playback. Zahara is also our resident expert on measuring vegetation structure.

James Mannix – Class of 2024; Cognitive Science Major
James joined us in the Spring of 2023. James is working on a project to understand how the distribution of sound energy and seasonal changes in habitat structure influence the active space of chickadee, titmice, and nuthatch vocalizations at the Vassar Farm and Ecological Preserve. He and Kalina are our experts on sound attenuation and signal fidelity.

Susie Osborne – Class of 2026; Cognitive Science Major
Susie joined us in the Fall of 2023 and is working on a project to understand how the distribution of sound energy and seasonal changes in habitat structure influence the active space of chickadee, titmice, and nuthatch vocalizations at the Vassar Farm and Ecological Preserve. She, Zahara, and Lucinda are our experts on sound source recordings and signal playback.

Kalina Sloat – Class of 2026; Neuroscience and Behavior Major
Kalina soft joined the lab in the Spring of 2023 and became a full fledged member in Fall of 2023. Kalina is working on a project to understand how the distribution of sound energy and seasonal changes in habitat structure influence the active space of chickadee, titmice, and nuthatch vocalizations at the Vassar Farm and Ecological Preserve. She and James are our experts on sound attenuation and signal fidelity.

Lucinda Thompson – Class of 2024; Neuroscience and Behavior Major
Lucinda joined the lab in the Fall of 2023. Lucinda is working on a project to understand how the distribution of sound energy and seasonal changes in habitat structure influence the active space of chickadee, titmice, and nuthatch vocalizations at the Vassar Farm and Ecological Preserve. She, Zahara, and Susie are our experts on sound source recordings and signal playback.
