Postcolonial Star Wars: Essays on Empire and Rebellion in a Galaxy Far, Far Away

The Postcolonial Star Wars Anthology is a multi-course project that began in the Fall of 2017 at Vassar College in Dr. Matthew Schultz’s Media Studies 184 First-Year Writing Seminar––Postcolonial Star Wars: Resistance, Rebellion, and Death a Long Time Ago in a Galaxy Far, Far Away. A new volume of student essays will be published annually (each December). Students in the course have an opportunity to focus their interests in Star Wars, postcolonial criticism, and media theory as they work to compose multimodal essays of about 8-10 pages that employ film and/or audio clips, hyperlinks, still images, and quoted text to substantiate their argumentative claims.
