Recently, I was invited to perform on a piece about my hometown, which was difficult. I move around, a lot and been fortunate enough to call both the jungles of Belize and the austere coldness of Northern England home
Now something of a tradition, OIS plans an ice skating trip to the McCann IceArena at the Mid Hudson Civic Center every February, and with the Winter Olympics taking place this year, it seemed quite fitting.
Obviously the scenes we were all imagining went something like this…
What actually happened was a little different…
Despite the photos above, everyone did have a lot of fun, and with our annual winter activity checked off the list, hopefully we can move on to warmer, more spring-like days! Right?
A few more photos below or check out our Flickr set from the ice skating trip at http://www
For winter break I went home to Dhaka, Bangladesh and it was forty degrees warmer than Poughkeepsie. You see in Bangladesh (South-East Asia), the dead of winter is as cold as fall here at Vassar.
On Wednesday, November 20 the Office of International Services (OIS) and the Vassar International Student Association (VISA) hosted the 7th edition of Kaleidoscope, Vassar’s annual international food and cultural festival. For the first time in memory, crowds were gathering and lines were forming as early as 4:45pm, a reflection of how Kaleidoscope has become an established campus tradition.
