THIS WEEK IN CAAD

This week is a huge week for CAAD! Please read below to find out all the exciting events taking place on campus.

COSTA COMPAGNIE: Wednesday, September 28, Friday September 30 and Saturday, October 1

German theater company costa compagnie will present its evening-length multimedia work Conversion/After Afghanistan, on Friday, September 30, and Saturday, October 1, 7:00pm, in Frances Daly Fergusson Dance Theater in Kenyon Hall. These events are free and open to the public.

On Wednesday, September 28, the History Majors Committee will be hosting a discussion to address the question, “How can the arts be used as a vehicle for discussing war?” The discussion will be lead by Vassar Posse Veterans as well as members of costa compagnie. LATE NIGHT AT THE LOEB: Thursday, September 29

The Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center will be celebrating two CAAD artists-in-residence, Barbara Beisinghoff and Mark Dion. There is a Facebook event with details about the night’s festivities, but you can also find information below:

The Exhibition Opening Reception for Barbara Beisinghoff’s When Light Touches Paper will take place at 5:00pm in the Loeb Sculpture Garden. The exhibition will be on view September 29-October 16, in both the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center and the Vassar College Art Library.

The Art Center is also hosting Mark Dion’s book launch and gallery talk at 6:00pm. Dion will be here to celebrate the publication of the exhibition catalogue for Universal Collection: A Mark Dion Project. He will discuss his time at Vassar as artist-in-residence and his large-scale installation which is on view through December 11, 2016. A book signing will follow.
