Many people go to museums to learn the history of something-of art, science, or even human civilization. Where does one go, however, to learn about the history of museums? A recent Ted-Ed video runs through a brief history of museums, revealing that they were not always the public spaces we think of today. Please watch the video below to discover how, what started out as Greek “temples built for the muses” became, through movements such as the Renaissance and Enlightenment, “centers for scholarship and artistic and scientific discovery.”
