How does Play-doh work? How do I start my own country? What’s the deal with crop circles? Stuff You Should Know, brought to you by How Stuff Works, has the answers to these and much more serious questions. Every few days, the site publishes a podcast around an hour long discussing everything from viruses to royalty to pinball. Josh and Chuck, the resident hosts, tackle these questions with poise and, of course, a bit of humor. A few years ago, they released a podcast called “Why Does Music Provoke Emotion?” For the first half of the clip, they bounce ideas off of one another about why and how they think music can do this. It’s “possibly the most astounding thing humanity has ever figured out how to do,” they believe. Later in the show, they introduce a special guest — cellist Ben Sollee — off of whom they continue to bounce questions. Find out the answer to this question in the podcast below. And if you’re really curious about, well, basically anything else, head on over to their podcast archive.
