Creativity Breadcrumb 15: Toulouse-Lautrec’s Joie de Vivre

At The Moulin Rouge, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec

At The Moulin Rouge, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec

food for creative making, doing, and thinking

With the bohemians of Montmartre, the exuberance of cabarets, and an inescapable vibrance of a place that could be none other than Paris, Toulouse-Lautrec captured in his paintings the essence of La Belle Époque. He translated his vivid recollections of decadent Parisian life onto prints, posters, journals, song sheets, theatre programs and illustrated books. A repertoire of his oeuvre will be displayed at MoMA through March 22, 2015, with mostly works from the museum’s collection in The Paris of Toulouse-Lautrec: Prints and Posters. Find out more about this magnificent exhibit here!
