April 7-8, Vassar will host its first-ever Food Symposium with support from CAAD, the Department of French and Francophone Studies, the Environmental Studies Program, Asprey CCAS Student Research Enhancement, Science and Technology Studies, The Departments of Philosophy, Chemistry, and Biology, the Grillo Fund, and the Office of the Dean of Faculty.
Alumnae House will be hosting all events associated with the symposium, starting on Friday at 5:30pm with a a keynote address from sociologist and food studies authority, Priscilla Parkhurst Ferguson of Columbia University. Saturday will feature a series of lectures conducted by different panelists, ranging from celebrity chefs to professors to scientists and inventors.
