There are so many very good eating places in Poughkeepsie, but Baby Cakes is my favorite because the food is very good, prices are reasonable, service is friendly/efficient and the setting is casual. Also, it has outdoor eating.

When my relatives visit, BC is the place they want to go to.
We were looking for an alternative to our free but lackluster hotel breakfast and this place was more or less around the corner. It turned out to be a great choice. There’s outdoor tables if you wanted to enjoy the sun, but also a lot of room indoors for those of us who wanted a break from it. The menu features all the usual breakfast foods, but a little above and beyond – a burrito, some avocado options and a few more vegetables. The coffee mugs are generous and refilled readily, and they have all the fancy coffee too if you want a latte.
