The Ali Forney Center’s mission is “to protect lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning (LGBTQ) youth from the harm of homelessness, and to support them in becoming safe and independent as they move from adolescence to adulthood.”
Give to Vassar’s Fund for Social Justice and Inclusion, or to Vassar’s Annual Fund. The Fund for Social Justice and Inclusion resides within the Office of Campus Life and Diversity in support of college programs and centers that address the issues of sexuality, gender, race & ethnicity, religion and spiritual life. The Hudson Valley chapter of GLSEN is “an education organization focused on ensuring safe schools for all students. GLSEN envisions a world in which every child learns to respect and accept all people, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression. GLSEN seeks to develop school climates where difference is valued for the positive contribution it makes to creating a more vibrant and diverse community.” GLSEN Hudson Valley has sub-chapters in Westchester, Rockland, Ulster, and also work in Orange, Dutchess, and Putnam Counties.
