Hanna, Simone, Kelsey and Katie (11/18)

So, we are almost done. Bruh

They need to fix the computer stand, so I’m done, bye!

-Hanna

I learn a bunch about technology and editing, and i achieved technological excellence! i detached that audio and then i put that picture in, i feel talented. Im super excited for transitions and music next week. Bruh.

~Simone

We are very psyched for Simone and Hanna! They are fantastic and are getting so familiar with the FinalCut technology which is very difficult. They work spectacularly together! They got all the pictures incorporated into the film and next week have to add music, transitions, and titles and they will be set! We are all set for the party in two weeks! We cannot express how proud we are of our younger colleagues.

Katie, Kelsey, Hanna, Simone 11/11

Today Hanna and i began the editing process for our awesometastic video project! Hanna is skilled at final cut pro, and Katie and Kelsey helped us out by giving us a tutorial and by getting Baynard when we needed rotating help. Im super excited to get this project done, it’ll be fantasticals!

~Simone

I was named after the lady from 90210.

Anyways, we worked very hard on this project and cant wait until this project is done! we hope you will enjoy  it!

-Hanna.

I observed Hanna and Simone working and they work so well together! They may not have been confident working with final cut at first, but they explored and quickly picked up the basics and were able to get a lot of their film edited in only an hour. Yay!

-Katie

I also observed Hanna and Simone today. They worked fabulously together! They compromised and problem solved without Katie and I having to help (they are super impressive.) Next week, we will finish up the video, hopefully!

Katie and Simone, 10/28-11/4

Last week we got back so late from filming that we didn’t have time to make a post! Last week we filmed our alien talk show discussing all the outfits with funny alien commentary. Hanna and Simone were so funny in their improvisation, and they wore matching white dresses! They were the perfect talk show hosts!

This week we went to the Noyes Parlor and were going to write but decided to talk instead all about school and life. It is important to talk sometimes and articulate your thoughts verbally rather than in writing. That is also a life skill neglected in schools. I loved hearing from Hanna and Simone: they are very smart girls! 🙂

-Katie

Last week was sooooo much fun. filming went well except for the camera dieing on us. Improve is hard but very fun.

This week Hanna and i got to discuss/vent about life and school with our very wise college friends. It was a nice destressifying way to relax before my birthday tomorrow 🙂 I really love discussions, and the one we had today was insightful and refreshing.

Katie and Simone 9/30

Today was a prime example of a quote from 30 rock. “There is no such thing as a bad idea, only good ideas that go horribly, horribly wrong”. We had an idea, and it went wrong. So now our podcast is slightly more simplistic, but the script is still impeccable. ~SIMONE

Yes, I love your application of that quote, Simone! Yes, today we were able to get our script recorded. After attempting to read it through with two speakers alternating by the word, we ultimately settled on alternating paragraphs. Technically, the word-by-word alteration just didn’t work out–the sound was always off balance. However, we still managed to keep in one part where we speak together–stay tuned for next week, when we add effects and music and post our project!  ~KATIE

“Why I’m Skipping the Pep Rally” by Simone and Katie

This Friday, I’m asking my mom for a note excusing me from pep rally. Here’s why. Pep rallies are loud, obnoxious, and exclusionary. The whole thing centers around the football team, which isn’t even good, while our math team competes and does well, and I didn’t even know we had a math team until last year. The different clubs and activity groups enter through one door and circle around the gym. When they’re done and seated, the football team enters through another set of doors, because they’re that special. FAVORITISM! The kings have arrived, and the crowd goes wild.

The pep rally recognizes a lot of clubs, but they aren’t recognized equally, and that’s the problem. All other sports and clubs are considered second to the football team, a sign of the favoritism toward male sports. Even the performing band falls victim to the chaos, as they can’t be heard while the seniors and freshmen engage in a shouting match across the gym. Pep rallies makes me hate my peers instead of love my school.

Simone

Hi!!!

My name is Simone Teague. I am 15 years old, and a student at Poughkeepsie High School. I love cooking, video games, renovation shows, drawing pigs, and technology confuses me. I have two brothers, one older one younger. My parents used to own a restaurant, but that is now a thing of the past. I am taking three AP classes, I cant take naps, and I am gluten-free.  Oh and I HATE grammar. And I cant spell. At all. Nope.
