College Service:

1. Wet lab committee for science planning.  My membership on the wet lab

committee was critical since I am the only person in physics who has

experience with wet lab facilities.  (2007)

2. Dean of College search committee. My contributions on the Dean of the

College Committee originated from the fact that I have some

administrative and leadership experience. Being new at Vassar College

allowed me to ask unbiased questions to my fellow committee members

and the applicant. (2008)

3. CCET Committee (2009)

4. Served as pre-major advisor for 9 students

5. Gave blog presentation for CIS (October 2010)

6. CCAS representative for physics (2010-2011)

7. Sub-committee of the Committee on Inclusion and Excellence (CIE)

recruiting and sustaining veterans.  Facilitated discussions on veteran

undergraduates.  Organized discussions between West Point personnel

(tactical officers and counselors) and Vassar

faculty/administration/counselors.

8. WMST Seminar (Feb 5, 2010).  An update on the Status of Women in

Science with Cindy Schwarz, Meg Ronsheim and Jenny Magnes.  Statistics

on course evaluations, funding rates, peer review and promotions were

discussed and underlined by personal accounts.  At least 25 people in

attendance.

9. Darwin Days: March 1, 2010, introduced Frances Sternhagen, who gave a

dramatic reading of a play about Maria Mitchell, Vassar’s first professor of

Astronomy.
