black student leader collective

mission:

Our collective is made up of a multitude of Black leaders across different organizations within the African/African-American, Latinx/Latinx-American, Asian/Asian-American, Native American (ALANA) Center; including but not limited to the African Students’ Union, the Black Students’ Union, the Caribbean Students’ Alliance, the ALANA Senior Council, the Multiracial/Biracial Students’ Association, and PoderLatinx.

The BSLC was first formed in the fall of 2017 in order to increase opportunities for community building and coalition work across identities of the African Diaspora at and around our campus. We seek to strengthen bonds among self-identifying Black students with the support of these aforementioned ALANA center organizations and others.

The BSLC strives to expand the narratives and expressions of blackness by encouraging us all to be our full, multifaceted selves in solidarity with one another.
