The African, Latino, Asian, Native American Intercultural Center, more commonly know as the ALANA Center has served as a home for various underrepresented groups on campus. It was built in 1933 after a long quest and struggle to carve out a space for people of color, especially Black identifying students on campus. Along with housing our weekly general body meetings, the ALANA Center, provides various resources and opportunities for leadership development for students of color on campus.
For more information check out the ALANA Center’s official page through Vassar College here! It’s equipped with a timeline leading up to its founding and a list of it’s other affiliated organizations.
