Last Day of VAST (Fall 2013)

Sadly, our last day for the semester was Wednesday December 11. Instead of normal tutoring, we had a party day to celebrate everything we’ve done together. Our mentors and scholars had so much fun spending time together before the Vassar tutors left for their winter vacation.

Check out the different activities we had available for our scholars and mentors to do together during our party:

  • Holiday Cookie Decorating: the scholars frosted gingerbread cookies and added toppings like M&Ms and sprinkles.

  • Soccer and Basketball: our scholars love playing sports, so our Head Mentor Marco set up space for them to play soccer and basketball in the PMS cafeteria

  • Music, of course! Our Head Mentor Jamily was the DJ.

  • Snowflake Art: some of our mentors and scholars learned how to make pretty snowflakes out of colored paper

  • Board Games: our scholars had the chance to relax and play games with their mentors after all the hard work they’ve done together this semester

The end of VAST was bittersweet. Scholars and mentors had such a fun afternoon together, but they will miss each other until VAST starts again on Monday February 3.

Happy Holidays!
