Tim Youd Retypes the Hudson Valley

Youd has been typing up a storm this summer and there are a few new diptychs to show for it. Below are the finished works for The Group by Mary McCarthy typed in April and May at Vassar College, Falconer by John Cheever typed at Sing Sing prison in Ossining earlier this month, and The Member of the Wedding by Carson McCullers typed in Nyack last week. Each one has it’s own unique style and they are stunning in person. The fourth image shows a detail of the top sheet for Falconer where you can get a sense of the ripple on the paper and the sheen of the ink but nothing compares to the real thing.

These works will be sent off to the framer soon to prepare them for the exhibition at The Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center opening in August.

Next up will be Jack by A.M. Homes slated to be completed later this week. Typing is happening at Sarah Lawrence College during the Writing Institute’s Summer Workshop!
