Bioinformatics Class (in a COVID-19 World)
Courses at Vassar are always carefully crafted, intentional, and designed to maximize learning. But there are times when the topics, so carefully laid out in the syllabus, are worth abandoning in order to take advantage of something unexpected. And in a class on Bioinformatics, collaboration, and scientific research, the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic is one of those times. This is a moment when we can empower ourselves to gain understanding of what we are facing, collectively, by pivoting completely to address the SARS-CoV-2 virus. –Jodi Schwarz, Associate Professor of Biology
