I received my Ph.D. from Temple University in algebraic topology under the direction of James Stasheff. In algebraic topology my interest is in homotopy theory and its applications to manifold theory and geometry. I also have interests in the history of mathematics, particularly the history of geometry and of topology. I have published papers on elementary number theory and mathematical physics. My vita can be seen here.
I am also a participant in a program at Christ Church in Poughkeepsie called One Word, Many Voices. As part of the program I gave the sermon on December 19, 1999 at the Church. If you would like to read my sermon, it can be found here. On April 10, 2005, I gave another sermon at Christ Church. It can be found here.
Finally, I sing (tenor) with the Christ Church choir. In their recent spring concert, we sang two a cappella pieces that I wrote:
“Who will give me wings?” and “Pied Beauty”. You can hear the performances here.
