I can often be found at crystallography conferences….

In 2005, I attended the 20th Congress of the International Union of Crystallography in Florence, Italy.

PHOTO ESSAY FROM FLORENCE ITALY!  This is the pulpit in Santa Maria Novella from which Galileo was condenmed as a heretic. Turns out he was right, and now he’s buried across town in Santa Croce, but his middle finger rests in Florence’s History of Science Museum, making a final statement.

In the summer of 2007, I traveled to Erice, Sicily, to take part in the 39th Course of the International School of Crystallography on crystal engineering.

In October 2008, I attended the Bruker Users Meeting, at Delft, The Netherlands.

2009: American Crystallographic Association meeting in Toronto, Canada.

2011: American Crystallographic Association meeting in New Orleans.

In August, 2011, I attended the Twenty-Second Congress and General Assembly of the International Union of Crystallography, in Madrid, Spain.

2012: American Crystallographic Association meeting in Boston.

2013: American Crystallographic Association meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii, July, 2013.

2014: Twenty-Third Congress and General Assembly of the International Union of Crystallography, in Montreal, Canada, August 2014.

2015: American Crystallographic Association meeting in Philadelphia, PA, July, 2015, where I co-chaired a session with Roger Rowlett on engaging undergraduates with crystallographic research.
