The American Southwest has some of the most incredible landscapes out there. On a recent road trip, I got to dive into the unique beauty of places like Bryce Canyon, Arches, Monument Valley, and a few hidden gems along the way. Each spot had its own vibe—one moment, I’d be surrounded by towering red rock formations, and the next, I’d find myself in the middle of a peaceful desert vista that stretched on forever. Bryce Canyon National Park

Bryce Canyon greeted me with its surreal landscape—tall, thin spires of rock that seem to defy gravity. My first stop was Natural Bridge and Rainbow Point, where the reds and oranges of the canyon walls contrasted beautifully with the clear blue sky. This area felt like stepping into another world, with panoramic views stretching out as far as the eye could see.

At Sunrise Point, I watched the first light of day illuminate the rock formations, a moment that felt almost magical. Walking along the trail, I admired the intricate shapes of the rocks, shaped by centuries of erosion. Later, at Bryce Point and Inspiration Point, I found sweeping vistas that offered a perfect spot to pause, take in the scenery, and appreciate the natural beauty surrounding me. Arches National Park

Arches National Park is famous for its unique rock formations, and it didn’t disappoint. Starting with the Double Arch and South Window Arch, I was captivated by the enormous stone arches, each one seemingly more impressive than the last. However, nothing compares to the Delicate Arch—the park’s iconic landmark. The hike up to Delicate Arch was challenging but rewarding, with the arch standing alone on a ridge, perfectly framed by the sky. If you time it right, you can catch the sunset here, when the light casts a golden glow on the red rock. Sadly we didn’t see the sunset, but it is still unforgettable.

Monument Valley

Driving through the valley, I was immediately struck by the grandeur of the towering buttes rising from the desert floor. Forrest Gump Point was a particular favorite, offering a classic view of the road stretching straight into the distance with the famous red rock formations on either side.

For a closer look, we drove further inside, and the bumpy ride was challenging, but also fun. Driving through this landscape, surrounded by towering red rocks and vast, open skies, was a humbling experience. Monument Valley has a unique energy—both rugged and serene, capturing the spirit of the Southwest. We were also lucky enough to see the sunset, where the light made the rocks turn gold and create a mesmerizing scene.

Forrest Gump Point
We also made a stop at the famous Forrest Gump Point on the way to Monument Valley—the exact spot where Forrest decided to stop running in the movie. It’s just a simple stretch of road, but standing there with those iconic red rock formations rising up in the background, it felt pretty epic. We took a few photos, and for a moment, it really felt like we were in a movie. It’s one of those places where the scenery almost feels larger than life, even though it’s just a quiet, lonely road in the middle of the desert.
