The International Community smiles bright for the camera
The Office of International Services celebrated the Spring Holiday in a rather unconventional way this year. While relying heavily on the Western traditions of Easter to guide the day, there were incorporations of many different cultures and peoples coming together to learn and enjoy good food!
We host a bi-annual potluck meal for International students and their host families. It’s a way for our Office to check-in with students and families and find out all the amazing things they’ve been doing over the semestre. It’s also an important part of the community building that is so much a part of our mission statement at OIS. We are devouted to bring together peoples of all cultures to just learn to engage global diversity in a very real way be it through music, or dance, or food. We really like food.

Through the event, we had performances from one of the a cappella groups on our campus, the recently named Home-Brewed. This was followed by a performance by Yibo Yu ’18, covering two Jason Mraz songs and then he performed an original work .

Finally, we had an Easter egg-hunt but not before a special visitor hopped his way into the festivities.

All in all, the day was a pleasure from start to finish!
