Project Description:
I use the iPad and accessories for teaching all of my courses – I use prepared notes that I upload to Notability, and I annotate them in class and project on the projector. I used to teach using a SMART podium, but the technology was no longer going to be supported going forward, so I switched to teaching using the iPad/Notability. It has been an excellent experience thus far, it’s a perfect medium for my teaching. Having this hardware allows me to continue teaching in the optimal way for my classes.
I like to use pre-printed notes for my students with missing elements that we fill in together during class. This style of teaching frees the students from having to write every word down, and allows them to focus on understanding the content, while still requiring them to write some content to stay engaged and active. The iPad facilitates this style of learning, and I highly recommend it for other faculty who are interested in this style of teaaching.
