Vassar College Fax for Matthew Vassar

Why this looks valid

  • Many organizations use electronic fax platforms to send documents
  • Housing Wire is a valid company
  • The links use real CAPTCHA technology for user validation

Why this is phishing

  • An electronic fax normally does not require any authentication and would come into email as a normal attachment
  • The login page is fake, the URL in the browser is not a Microsoft or Office365 website
  • The Vassar College login to Microsoft services is through the VassarOne portal, and is never a Microsoft specific login screen
