My first blog entry!

2/2/12

Because this is my first blog entry, allow me to introduce myself! My name is Anna, I’m from Weston, Massachusetts, and I’m a sophomore here at the lovely Vassar College. I’m a pre-med psychology major and am contemplating adding a minor in chemistry. Pre-med isn’t considered a major here, but is just the set of requirements you need to complete before you apply to medical school. I’m also a member of the ultimate Frisbee and ski teams and enjoy long walks on the Vassar farm and the grilled portobello sandwich offered at the Retreat, one of our dining areas on campus.

Well, I’m currently sitting in the library, deciding between finishing my organic chemistry pre-lab and writing my first blog entry… As much as I love orgo, I think I’m going to let it take the back burner on this one. (Side note: lab is due tomorrow and it’s 1:44 pm, which means this is not technically procrastinating).

Today has been a pretty average Thursday. I woke up only to realize that I forgot to fold my laundry after I took it out of the dryer last night, which means that my shirt is rather wrinkled (but smells pristine). After grabbing a bagel from the Retreat, which is conveniently located in my dorm, I headed to my 9 am class, Research Methods in Developmental Psychology. The class involves doing observations and experiments in the Wimpfheimer Day Care, which is a laboratory nursery school on campus. Pretttttty cool! I’m a psych major, so this is one of my favorite classes (thus far…). I headed to work at the admissions building at 11:45 and then off to the library, where I am currently sitting diligently, munching on some hummus and pretzels (also from the Retreat). I have class again from 3:10-4:25 and then my organic chemistry lab from 6-10 tonight. Thankfully, I only have one class on Fridays, so after lab, I’m nearly done with my week.

And I’m done with my pre-lab! Huzzah!
