Conversations Unbound<\/a><\/strong>\"\"<\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n

Through Conversations Unbound, forcibly displaced individuals are empowered as paid online Arabic or Spanish language tutors for college students in the United States. These tutoring sessions are an integral component of language learning curricula that also make possible cross-cultural bonds of solidarity.<\/span><\/p>\n

ECHO 100Plus<\/a>\"\"<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Echo100Plus acts as bridge between NGO\u2019s and private initiatives in Greece and their counterpart abroad, all with the common aim to support Greece in these difficult times. We are partnering with them for our English Language Exchange<\/a> program.<\/span><\/p>\n

ReDI School of Digital Integration<\/a><\/strong>\"\"<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

ReDI School of Digital Integration is a non-profit digital school for tech-interested newcomers applying for asylum in Germany. They offer their students high-quality training and the chance to collaborate with the start-up and digital industry.We are partnering with them for our English Language Exchange<\/a> program. They are also important partners for Conversations Unbound<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Scholars at Risk\"SAR
\n<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Scholars at Risk (SAR) is an international network of higher education institutions and individuals working to protect threatened scholars, prevent attacks on higher education, and promote academic freedom and related values. By joining the network, members like Vassar College send a powerful message in support of these goals and advances the global conversation on the importance of academic freedom to higher education quality and to society.<\/span><\/p>\n

Church World Service<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Partnering with local communities, CWS helps refugees get <\/a>involved and adjust in new communities.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Tristate Jewish Network for Refugee Support <\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"This dedicated group is comprised of a variety of Jewish institutions in the New York Metropolitan Area who provide material to support the nearly 200 newly arrived refugees in the capital region of New York state (Albany and Schenectady). The Tristate Jewish Network recognizes the impact that groups from upstate New York have provided, but also understand how resources can become stretched. They wish to harness the drive and power of the many socially-engaged Jewish communities of New York City, Northern NJ, Westchester County, Rockland County and Southern Connecticut by mobilizing contributions from these communities to support existing upstate fundraising channels.<\/span><\/p>\n

Catholic Charities of Poughkeepsie<\/a> \"Screen<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, Catholic Charities of Poughkeepsie focuses on protecting and nurturing children and youth, feeding the hungry and sheltering the homeless, strengthening families and resolving crises, supporting the physically and emotionally challenged, and welcoming and integrating immigrants and refugees.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Rural & Migrant Ministry<\/a>\"Welcome-to-RMM\"<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Part of the Episcopal Diocese of New York, the Rural & Migrant Ministry has served to connect congregations in urban settings with its rural and migrant communities. The Ministry’s achievements included the creation of a childcare Headstart program, the development of several youth development programs that produced close to 100% high school graduation, and passing three pieces of state legislation that have improved conditions for New York’s farmworkers.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Multifaith Alliance for Syrian Refugees<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

\"Layout<\/a>The Multifaith Alliance, a project run by the Tanenbaum Center for Inter-religious Understanding, is a US-based interfaith response to the Syrian refugee crisis. Its goal is to increase awareness and work for immediate and future alleviation of the humanitarian crisis in Syria. Made up of more than 50 affiliate organizations, the Multifaith Alliance draws on religious and civil society’s leaders who have moral authority to address the ongoing suffering of the Syrian people.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Global Citizens’ Initiative\"mac-img-global-development-150x150\"<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n

The Global Citizens’ Initiative (TGCI) is an effort to build a network of people who see themselves as global citizens and want to build a better world. The initiative aims to build a group of leaders who can promote the practice of global citizenship engagement and advocate for policies and prog<\/span>
\n rams that reflect the values of a world community. TGCI is a member organization where people can access information about global citizenship issues, engage in global development advocacy efforts, and build their skills as global citizenship leaders.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

International Institute for Education<\/a>\"iie-logo\"<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Founded after World War I, this organization helped scholars fleeing Nazi Germany in the 1930s to find positions at US institutions (including Carleton College). In response to the Syrian refugee crisis, the “IEE is leading a consortium\u2014in partnership with Jusoor, the U.S. State Department, Kaplan Test Prep International, UC Davis Human Rights Initiative, and the Global Platform for Syrian Students\u2014of more than 35 higher education institutions around the world that have committed support for Syrian students and scholars, primarily in the form of full and partial scholarships. <\/span><\/p>\n
