In addition,&nbsp;she is a member of Britomartis, Vassar on Tap and the Underground. He is part of the Oral Histories Team and will be doing work with the Consortium on Forced Migration, Displacement, and Education, which he did research for during the summer of 2017. She is a German historian and scholar of the American military presence in Germany after WWII, with a special focus on the interaction between African American GIs and German society. Together with Anish Kanoria, she founded Vassar Refugee Solidarity to get the Vassar College community involved in findings ways to help with the unprecedented global movements of people and the resulting crises in&nbsp;states responses.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Alumni&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-196 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/pages.vassar.edu\/vcsolidarity\/files\/2016\/01\/wwa-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"173\" height=\"173\"\/>Anish Kanoria \u201818<\/strong>, an&nbsp;international student from India and an Economics and Political Science double major, worked together with Prof. Maria Hoehn to found Vassar Refugee Solidarity. He was the student leader of the initiative.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-391 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/pages.vassar.edu\/vcsolidarity\/files\/2016\/01\/Untitled1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"172\" height=\"198\"\/>Patrick DeYoung \u201918<\/strong>&nbsp;was a Political Science major&nbsp;at Vassar, a Vassar Veterans Posse Scholar, and the Chair of Organizations for the Vassar Student Association. Pat was the coordinator for the initiative\u2019s refugee resettlement efforts, which is focused on the Albany Community and School Fundraising Project.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-384 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/pages.vassar.edu\/vcsolidarity\/files\/2016\/01\/Untitled-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"173\" height=\"230\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pages.vassar.edu\/vcsolidarity\/files\/2016\/01\/Untitled-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/pages.vassar.edu\/vcsolidarity\/files\/2016\/01\/Untitled.jpg 674w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 173px) 100vw, 173px\" \/>Sophia Slater \u201918<\/strong>&nbsp; was Political Science and French &amp; Francophone Studies double major and spent both semesters of her junior year abroad in Paris, where she studied at Sciences Po. She also wrote articles on refugee issues for Newsweek and was the local coordinator for VRS language tutoring programs. She was also captain of the Women\u2019s Rowing team and worked in the office of Athletic Communications. Millie studied abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark last semester, with coursework focusing on the European migrant \u201ccrisis,\u201d international refugee law, and the experiences of migrant children<\/span>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Ex-Officio Advisor<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><a href=\"http:\/\/pages.vassar.edu\/vcsolidarity\/files\/2016\/01\/wwa-9.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-204\" src=\"http:\/\/pages.vassar.edu\/vcsolidarity\/files\/2016\/01\/wwa-9.jpg\" alt=\"wwa-9\" width=\"184\" height=\"137\"\/><\/a><strong>Sam Speers<\/strong> is director of the Office of Religious &amp; Spiritual Life and assistant dean for Campus Life and Diversity.&nbsp;He is past president of the Association of College and University Religious Affairs (ACURA).
