Even though the summer is sadly coming to an end, I can’t wait to see everyone’s lovely faces at VAST this fall. Keep checking the blog for updates on Fall 2013 applications. The first day of VAST will be Monday, September 23.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Just a taste of what is to come this semester…<\/p>\n

For the 2013-2014 school year, VCUEI programs will focus on the goal of promoting student LITERACY<\/strong>. With that in mind, VAST has three goals to achieve this year.<\/p>\n

VAST 2013-2014<\/strong> Semester Goals:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. All VAST scholars will be on the Poughkeepsie Middle School Honor Roll by May 2014 (or maybe even December 2013!)<\/li>\n
  2. All VAST scholars will read at least one chapter book<\/strong> (outside of English class) by December 2013.<\/li>\n
  3. All VAST scholars will create one writing piece<\/strong> to showcase on this blog by December 2013.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Remember, your Vassar mentors will be there to help you accomplish these goals.<\/p>\n
