What is TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxVassar, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxVassar event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
Meet TEDxVassarCollege
TEDxVassarCollege is a student-led organization that was started in 2018. The initiative of TEDxVassarCollege is to bring together students and faculty to explore a vast variety of topics and ideas. As taken from the TEDx Program, the goal of TED talks is to spark conversations among community members, and to discover “ideas worth spreading.”
As a close-knit liberal arts community, Vassar hosts a variety of experiences and identities that have the ability to come together to bring new ideas into discussion. TEDxVassarCollege works to explore these differences and view them as the heart of the liberal arts experience.
