Maria delle Lagrime], che \u00e8 cosa rarissima.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What precisely Vasari means by saying that Rosso drew a study of nudes for this work is not clear.\u00a0 A single work with several nudes seems indicated.\u00a0 This could be any one of the three known compositions for the Lagrime project similar to the <i>Visitation<\/i> \u201cschizzetto, tutto d\u2019ignudi\u201d that he made for Lappoli in 1524 (see <a href=\"http:\/\/pages.vassar.edu\/rosso\/catalogues\/lost-works\/l-17\/\">L.17<\/a>).\u00a0 Or it might have been a drawing of the one Lagrime scene, the <i>Allegory of the Immaculate Conception<\/i>, four of whose five figures are nude.\u00a0 It could possibly have been the very drawing that is now in the Uffizi (<a href=\"http:\/\/pages.vassar.edu\/rosso\/files\/2011\/11\/D.32-Allegory-Uffizi.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">Fig.D.32<\/a>).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1528 and 1529 On this project and its documentation, see the Preface to D.31-34, and the related entries.
