Zeri associated the painting with his Master of the Kress Landscapes.\u00a0 But it is also especially close to the Madonna and Child<\/em> at Bucknell (Fig.RP.11<\/a>), which he did not consider but which Freedberg thought, by implication, was related to this group.\u00a0 They are almost certainly by the same artist, as is evident in the similarities of the heads of the Madonna and of the children, and in the landscape details.\u00a0 Borgo thought the Bucknell painting was by Albertinelli and an assistant.\u00a0 That assistant may well be the author of the Assumption of the Virgin with Saint Thomas<\/em>.<\/p>\n

A section of the buildings in the background just below the Virgin is very similar to part of the group of buildings in the background of the Portrait of a Young Man<\/em> in Berlin (Fig.RP.2a<\/a>) that has been attributed to Rosso.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
