Derived, with variations, and in reverse, from Fantuzzi\u2019s etching (Fig.E.75<\/a>) that is related to the framing of the Enlightenment of Francis I<\/em> in the Gallery of Francis I.\u00a0 One child is missing from beneath the female satyr and the children below are shown in several active postures rather than simply standing and leaning on canes.\u00a0 But Du Cerceau\u2019s print resembles Fantuzzi\u2019s etching in so many other respects that it is most likely that the former is derived from the latter rather than from a common lost model.<\/p>\n
