Madeleine she\/her- Co-chair<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hi! I\u2019m one of the co-chairs in the committee! I\u2019m a senior Physics major with math and music theory correlates. I have been a research assistant in Professor Merlo\u2019s research lab for three years and am interested in helping more students get access to research! I spend the rest of my time playing oboe or learning clavichord in Skinner or with my cat, Bunny, who is a rising instagram influencer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Katie – Co-chair<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hey, I\u2019m Katie (she\/her) and I am one of the co-chairs of the majors committee! I am a senior Physics and Math double major, and also a member of the Rugby team. I have been a research assistant in Professor Magnes\u2019 applied optics lab for the past three years, and recently joined Professor Merlo\u2019s research group this past summer. I am so excited to help lead the majors committee in planning some really fun and engaging events this year, so we hope to see you around!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Evelyn – Co-chair<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hello, I\u2019m Evelyn (they\/she), and I am one of three acting co-chairs! I am a senior physics major on the education track.  On campus, I am on the EB of Maroon Society, Council of ALANA Seniors, as well as an active member of GISTEM, Ritmo, LSU, HYPE, and Transitions.  During my free time, I enjoy listening to music and crocheting! Fun Fact: I have a pet raccoon named Blue, and I’m always happy to share pics\/videos of her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mariah – Secretary<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m Mariah (she\/her) and I\u2019ll be the secretary for this year! I\u2019m a junior double majoring in physics and astronomy and minoring in French, and I\u2019m really excited to be on the majors committee! Heads up, you’ll be receiving a LOT of emails from me. On campus, I\u2019m the president of Vassar\u2019s Black Student Union, the student leadership team of VXF, and I work as a social media ambassador for Vassar\u2019s platforms. I enjoy biking, reading, running, performing, and hanging out with friends, and a fun fact about myself is that I play over 7 instruments!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John – Treasurer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hi, I\u2019m John (he\/him) and I am the Treasurer for this year\u2019s committee. I am a senior physics major with math correlate. I am in charge of food and drinks for hbar and other events hosted by the committee. I will also be doing cool physics demos in hbar! I\u2019ve worked as the lab tech assistant last year and I will be working as the lab assistant for this year.  In my (very limited) free time, I play the piano and the guitar. I\u2019m excited to make committee events more fun!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parker – Website Coordinator<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hi everyone! I\u2019m Parker (he\/him), a Senior majoring in Physics. I will be the Website Coordinator with the goal of making resources and opportunities more accessible! Moving forward I\u2019ll be building an updated website with info such as upcoming events, department news, available scholarships\/grants, etc. Feel free to reach out if you have any ideas for what else can go on the website.
