Vision Board: Vassar Teaching and Learning Center

Here we invite members of the Vassar community to collectively imagine possibilities for a more robust Teaching, Learning, and Research Center (TLRC) at Vassar. In the spirit of Partnering Pedagogy’s mission, we aim to promote collaborative efforts between students, faculty, administrators, and staff to develop shared and inclusive visions for our pedagogies. We hope that this vision board serves to be a dynamic, engaging, and collaborative space for us to exchange and cultivate creative ideas for developing a sustainable structure dedicated to fostering inclusive pedagogies and effective teaching and learning environments here at Vassar.

By commenting on the prompts below, please share your thoughts, experiences, suggestions, and visions for our learning community. What would like to see from a TLRC in the future? How could a more robust TLRC help create pedagogical spaces that allow all the members of our various communities to feel welcomed, valued, challenged, and supported?

First Events: Writing Center and EPI Conversation

First, the next session will be Friday, September 28, from 12-1:30, in the Writing Center in the library.  We’ll be talking with a number of the peer tutors from the Writing Center, and joined by several committed students from the Engaged Pluralism Initiative (EPI), for a discussion about the ways the Center operates and the resources it offers to both students and faculty.  More specifically, we’ll explore the Center’s value and function as a point of access for students to enter, engage, and enhance their participation in the academic community.
