“Coming Home” is a celebration of diverse mediums and techniques, and opens a door to all manner of interpretation. Each of the artists will have their own view of what this means.
It may reference love of home, or a personal love, or an exploration of the relationship between craft and comfort. It can convey everything from warmth to the opposite.
This exciting exhibit showcases the distinct perspective on how color, material, and techniques can collaborate in unexpected ways to illustrate where and how we actually live, move, and seek both livability and inspiration in our surroundings.

We’re hosting a special screening of “American Fiction” about a novelist who has become disillusioned with the establishment’s exploitation of ‘Black’ entertainment rooted in overused and offensive stereotypes. Come and join us for this special screening and bring a friend! All are welcome! The Race Unity Circle will plan an in-depth exploration of the movie and the issues it raises at a future event. This night is just for fun!
Join us Thursday, February 29th at 6pm at the FDR Library & Museum for a panel discussion and viewing of the inspiring film “New York State Celebrates the Life and Legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.”

Registration is required and found online.
Texture in art is described as the way artists use their chosen medium to create a physical or tactile surface, by creating either a three dimensional aspect to the work’s surface, or even just the appearance of texture. It refers to the physical appearance or feel of an object, and can be seen through bumps, ridges, grooves and other manipulations.
This exhibit demonstrates how texture can be a fundamental part of an artwork through the craftsmanship of four amazing artists – Joel Brown, Mary Flad, Karen Madden, Bob Madden. Their work explores how texture in different mediums can provide a sense of depth, add interest, evoke emotion and create visual balance or contrast.
